Notice and Do

By: Sam Kelly

This book is my version of the feminist revolution, written with practical instructions. The reality is that my two sons have rarely ever seen a man do laundry or sweep the floor. I refuse to raise men who are incapable of caring for themselves and their spaces and who feel entitled to the unpaid work of the women around them to compensate for them. I’ve been the woman compensating for most of my life and that’s come at a significant cost.

I believe whole-heartedly in their capability to learn these important life skills, but having a house full of neurodivergent brains does make it much harder to teach. This book makes it easy.

Good Inside

By: Becky Kennedy

This book was so helpful to me as a mom – particularly when my kids behaviour was less than ideal.

I care how they feel and I know how much my parenting impacts who they become. There is so much conflicting advice about how best to parent these days and I often worried about whether I was too soft or too lenient. This book helped me find a happy and healthy middle ground for all of us. The perspectives shared in this book changed the way I think about my role as a mother completely, making what to do in tough parenting moments a whole lot easier.
